Cookie week (1) : Day 2

In cookie land, before we can start baking or cooking we have to work out some numbers (and I like that-because after all-I am a math kind of gal!)

So, I had to make my list-who's been naughty and who's been nice and who's been EXTRA nice :). List written, now what sizes boxes for each recipient.

You might ask-why does that matter? well here is the mathematics of it:
50 Medium Boxes
40 Small Boxes
2 large boxes

100 cookies in the medium box, 25 cookies in the small box, 300 cookies in the large box.

First pass-wanting to give lots of people medium boxes:
cookie count: 6,600

Oops-way more than my Target of 2,000.

recalc about 20 times. Get it down to :
32 mediums
42 small
1 large
26 Nut rolls

4500 cookies. Down 500 from last year. but only making 12 kinds so way less complicated. just more of each kind.

So that was task two:

Cashew Bars 30 doz
three pepper dark choco milanos 30 doz
Raspberry Marzipan 35 doz

total: 295 doz x 12 = 3540

Ok, that is a 1000 cookies shy of my goal. SO I will have to either make more of each cookie or add cookies. I will see as I go along how I think this is shaping up. I may add a couple more-or I may ship less boxes and more Nut Roll. We'll have to see how it goes during the week.

No, for shopping. Since i know how much of what cookie I have to double and quadruple recipes and then ingredients to come up with the list.

And then the shopping.

SO I finished all of this yesterday and still managed to go have fun at night.
